Mosignor John Oppong Baah passes on

Information reaching Newswatch indicates that Msgr. John Oppong Baah of the sunyani dioceses of the Catholic Church has passed on to eternity.

His death is reported to have  occured yesterday, January 28, at about 11:40pm at the Holy Family Catholic hospital in Techiman.



A statement released by the secretary to the Bishop of the Sunyani diocese, Rev. Fr. Joachim Takyia, cited on social media indicates that the Msgr. was at Kenten parish to celebrate his 71st birthday and to interact with the pastoral council and the founders of the church when the unfortunate happened.

"I wish on behalf of the Bishop, Most Rev. Dominic Yeboah Nyarko, and the Catholic Diocese of Sunyani to officially announce the sudden demise of Msgr. John Oppong Baah which sad event occurred at the Holy Family Hospital Techiman yesterday at about 11:40 pm.

 Msgr. had come to Kenten parish to celebrate his 71st birthday and to interact with the pastoral council and the founders of the church," the statement indicated.

The statement futher mentions that the  mortal remains of the Monsignor has been sent to Sunyani for preservation pending further updates.

"His body will be transferred to sunyani this morning. Any further updates and information will be communicated in due time. Let us remember to pray for a restful repose," the statment concluded.
