Telecommunication giants, MTN in partnership with afb Ghana has officially launched a Quickloan service for Mobile Money subscribers.
Quickloan is a Mobile Money loan financed by afb Ghana, available on MTN Mobile Money and approved by the Bank of Ghana.
This new product is intended to provide small loans to enhance businesses of MTN Mobile Money customers in the markets.
According to the General Manager for Payments at MTN, Mr. Eli Hini during the launch in Accra on Wednesday, the platform has been piloted among some selected staff and customers, and has received positive feedback, where users have asserted to how fast, easy and convenient it is to access QWICKLOAN.
“QUICKLOAN is here to bring relief to customers. You will agree with me that everyone needs to solve a need in life at a point in time. Sometimes it is very difficult getting financial assistance from family and friends to solve that need.
“In most cases, the period of need will go pass and you will go pass and you may never get the financial assistance. Aside this, there are times where you may be stranded in town or whole on a journey due to shortage of money. Quickloan is here to solve those needs”, Mr. Hini said.
He also explained that With Quikckloan, customers do not have to through the hustle to provide proof of collateral in order to access the loan. Quickloan is an instant way to access a cash loan, at any time for any purpose from Mobile Money phone.
He said customers can access up to GHC 1,000 by using MTN Mobile Money and airtime more frequently and also commit to repay loans on time in order to access more loans.
MTN customers can access the new savings and loan service from their mobile money registered sim by dialing *170# and select option six (6) on the menu.
Chief Executive Office at afb Ghana, Arnold Parker during an interview during the launch said, “MTN is the biggest mobile operator in the Ghana and they share the share vision with afb Ghana, of serving the unbanked in Ghana.
“The intention is to reach every Ghanaian household with an afb product”, he emphasized.
On her part, Assistant Director in charge of payment systems at the Bank of Ghana, Mrs. Clarissa Kudower charged customers to report or complain over high interest and unsatisfied service.
