The 10 year Diocesan Strategic Plan (2018-2028), develpoed under the authority of the Bishop, Most Rev. Emmanuel Kofi Fianu, SVD, was put together by three Researchers from the Sociology Department of the University of Ghana.
The team made up of Professor Steve Tonah, Dr. James Dzisah and Rev. Fr. Prof. Michael Okyerefo solicited inputs from stakeholders through a broad base consultative process in the 3 deaneries of Ho, Hohoe and Kpando.
Bishop Emmanuel Fianu, who outdoored the Strategic plan, contained in a 137-page book, said the document reflects the hopes and aspirations of the clergy, religious, consecrated Men and women as well as the lay faithful as to the strategic direction of their parishes, outstations, and other institutions in the Diocese for the next 10 years.
He indicated that the strategic plan was the fruit of elaborate consultation and dialogue with broad cross-section of people of God at the parish, deanery and Diocesan levels.
"This document, despite its thorough nature, is not cast in concrete or iron. It is only a useful human tool, fashioned by human hands and brains to guide all of us, as a Diocesan family under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, for building up of God's Kingdom in the Ho diocese," he said.
Bishop Fianu entreated all the 29 parishes in the Diocese and their outstations to fashion out their individual plans in line with the diocesan blueprint for the attainment of its aims and objectives.
The document which would be operational from 2018, took cognisance of all pastoral and other development needs of parishes, outstations and other institutions in the Diocese, including health and educational institutions.
In addition, the plan also outlines steps to address those needs with benchmarked indicators at the local, deanery and Diocesan levels in the short, medium and long term.
Dr. Ben Honyenugah, interim Pro Vice Chancellor Chancellor of Ho Technical University, who chaired the function, lauded the Bishop for his foresight to get a long term plan for the Diocese, and the research team for developing the Strategic plan.
He called for periodic fora to sensitize faithful in the parishes on the content of the document.
Copies of the Diocesan Strategic Plan were later auctioned at the ceremony attended by reps of the various parishes and institutions as well as the clergy and religious.
